We are reaching out during a time of deep hardship. Our beloved cousin, Elan, has been wrongfully detained by ICE — not because of any crime, but after showing up to a scheduled court appointment with the goals of fulfilling his legal obligations in his process for legal status.

He was first detained in Texas more than 4 weeks ago, and without warning, he was just transferred to an ICE facility in another state. This sudden relocation has made it even more difficult for his family, his legal team, and his community to support him.

We are now urgently raising funds to secure experienced legal help and to cover the many costs that come with fighting for justice in a broken system. Without strong legal defense, the risk of deportation — and permanent separation from his family and community — is tragically real.

We are asking for your support at this time to cover:

* Immigration attorney fees

* Court and filing costs

* Travel, communication, and support expenses related to his defense

Elan is a kind, hardworking, and faithful member of our community. He deserves the chance to defend his rights and reunite with his loved ones — not to be lost in a system that too often forgets the humanity of those within it.

As anyone can imagine, this has been extremely difficult on his family. His brothers, his only family left here, have been working tirelessly the past month to bring him home and this entire situation has caused a lot of emotional and financial burdens.
