Hello, my name is Devin, and I’m fundraising for myself and my two boys. Asking for help isn’t easy, but I know it could make a real difference in helping us get back on our feet. I’m a newly single mom to a 9-year-old and a 5-month-old. While we’re not technically homeless—my dad has kindly taken us in—we don’t have a place to call our own right now.

The boys’ father hasn’t abandoned us; he’s still trying to support us, but he hasn’t been able to find work for months, and our credit card is nearly maxed out.

Funds raised will go toward helping me return to work. I’ll need childcare for my baby, and even though the idea of sending him to daycare so young is difficult, I have to do what’s necessary to provide for my family. I used to work as a permanent makeup artist and I’m hoping to restart my career, but things like studio space and supplies come with upfront costs.

If this fundraiser does well, we’ll also be able to look into getting an apartment of our own—something my 9-year-old deserves more than anything. He needs his own space again.
