This page was created by Donna Baltch, 7th grade ELA teacher at Howitt Middle School. The funds donated will be handled by the Farmingdale School District Social Workers that are working with the families and will go directly to pay for Cody's funeral expenses. 
     Cody's life ended tragically when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident which has left the entire community of Farmingdale stunned. In Farmingdale, we take care of our own. This community has stepped up and rallied to help the families of all five victims, as well as the two adults who were seriously injured in the crash. At the request of my students, countless members of the staff and faculty, and this wonderful community, I set up this fund.  
     I spoke with Cody's Mom and Dad, Michael, the funeral director at O'Shea's, Father Duffy from St. Killian's, and Mr. Paul Defendini, Assistant Superintendent of Business for the Farmingdale School District.
     I also spoke with Matthew Cereoli, one of Cody's best friends, and Samantha Smith (another friend of Cody's).The two gofundme pages that raised $465.00 and $790.00 created by Matthew and Samantha were legitimate. Those funds will be combined with the funds from this page. If you donated to those pages, your money is safe. We are shutting down those pages, and, going forward  all donations can be made through this page.
