Rebirth of Ancient Song

On May 14th in the early morning hours a historic landmark and building which is owned by the first Black female OB/GYN in Brooklyn caught fire.  Ancient Song Doula Services along with another community based business Bread Love was hit the hardest.

Needless, to say we were taken by surprise.

Ancient Song Doula Services has been in Bedstuy Brooklyn since 2010 and since this time has served over 200 women and families within the community and trained well over 175 women in the community as doulas to assist other families through their maternal and reproductive health.

Our mission at ASDS is to empower women of color, low-income families, and immigrant women in having a birth where they are empowered and informed about their birthing choices.  Our motto: Never turn Anyone AWAY!

All the women who make Ancient Song run everyday work on a volunteer basis and the community has supported us and embraced the work we are doing to address the infant and maternal mortality amoung women of color.

Now, we need you! We need to rebirth ourselves out of the ashes and come back stronger. We need Birthing supplies, childbirth education teaching tools, computers, desks, temporary space, etc.   So, join us in continuing to strengthen women and families within Brooklyn and the 5 boroughs.

Lets work together and rebuild and rebirth!
