Hi there,
We’re Ayelet HaShachar - a grassroots, lay-led, community-focused Jewish community based in Sydney/Eora, Australia. We’re socially progressive and egalitarian, which shines through in our vibrant musical services. We use melodies, prayers and music from the vast Jewish library to link people and tradition, and to offer our growing community ways to connect to Judaism that are right for them.
We’re now in our EIGHTH year of consistent services, run by a passionate volunteer team. We've celebrated weddings, baby namings and a Bat Mitzvah. We've hosted services for Yom Kippur, Rosh HaShanah, Pesach, and Sukkot, and we meet weekly for Kabbalat Shabbat. We are committed to the Jewish community, and to providing a warm and welcome space for people to sing, connect, and own their Jewish identities and heritages.
Our community is growing faster than ever. We welcomed hundreds of people to our High Holy Days services this year, and we on average we see over 50 people attending our weekly Shabbat services.

In order for us to be sustainable and continue to grow our community, programs and offerings, we need your financial support. Our annual 10 Days of Giving is our main source of funding.
Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 and every $ donated will be matched by 3 generous families.
These funds will go towards:
- Keeping our services complimentary and accessible for all
- Designing and printing our siddurim and machzorim
- The renting of venue spaces, hiring chairs and equipment
- Training for our hard-working team
- Paying a general manager who ensures services can run seamlessly
- Administrative costs like insurance and marketing.
Ayelet HaShachar has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. This means all donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible in Australia, and you will receive a tax receipt for your contribution.
