Dear friends,

We, the Palmer-Jones family are asking for your help with the purchase of a reliable car for a very special family.

On a recent family trip home at DIA Sediqullah Hassani met us at the gate with a wheelchair for Phyllis. We were instantly struck by his smile, compassion and humble heart. We got to know Sediqullah as we went through customs and waited for lost luggage. He shared how he and his family ended up in Colorado, what life was like in his homeland of Afghanistan and the decade leading up to their departure. We instantly connected, exchanged numbers and our friendship began.

We are reaching out with a heartfelt request for your support in aiding a true military hero; our friend, an afghan soldier who served alongside the U.S. military for a decade. Many of his duties were classified. In general he watched out for our soldiers, as they fought the taliban for his people’s freedom. He, his wife Medina and two boys Motasim (5), and Ali (3) hid in a cellar for two months after the U.S. pulled out of Afghanistan. Seeking refuge from the Taliban who were hunting them down for aiding our Military. Thankfully, with a thirty-minute notice, the U.S. got Sediqullah’s family out of Afghanistan safely, but they could never return and had to leave everything behind. They landed in Colorado a little over a year ago. They miss their family back home but are so grateful they are safe.

However, the Hassani’s are facing significant challenges as they rebuild their lives in the United States. One pressing need we are focusing on is providing them with a reliable means of transportation. A car is not just a convenience; it's a lifeline to employment, education, and essential services. Currently Sediqullah is working two jobs at DIA at 16.50 per hour and sending $500 per month to his family back home. It’s very difficult to save money for a car or find better employment with out one. We are launching a fundraising campaign to help Sediqullah and his family secure a car that will enable them to regain their independence and stability.
