Ezra is someone who has spent a huge part of their life looking after other people.

They’re a disabled clown and former fakir circus performer, and they’ve always tried to bring joy, laughter, and a bit of magic wherever they can.

Ezra was arrested at their home on the 17th July 2025 after making a theatrical smoke flare in their garden, they have been in HMP Durham without bail since. Before their arrest they volunteered at HerbHub, a community project that grows herbs in urban spaces, and even while on remand they’ve continued supporting others as an Autism advocate inside the prison.

Ezra is Autistic and lives with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and other Chronic conditions, which make day-to-day life hard even outside of Prison. Being in prison while disabled has made things much more difficult, but they still try to show up for people with kindness and care.

Ezra tends to be someone who checks in on others first. They often offer support, time, or help where they can, even when they’re struggling themselves. It’s just part of how they move through the world.

Ezra’s sentencing is on January 12th, 2026, and the outcome could go either way.

I will update this after the trial with the verdict after it has been reached.

Whatever happens, they’re facing real financial pressure. Over £1,000 of debt has built up in rent arrears and borrowing while inside prison, and there’s a real risk of homelessness on their release. With the stress of the trial hanging over everything this is a very uncertain time.

We’re trying to make sure Ezra has a soft landing upon their release— somewhere safe to stay, a bit of breathing room, and some stability to help them get through the transition.
