Help Bring My Father Home : Victim of an ICE Detention
My name is Daniela and I am the oldest daughter of Fausto Valladares Alvarez, a tamale vendor.
My father is a loving dad of five, a devoted husband, and a hardworking man who came to this country with one dream: to give his family a better life.
On October 16th, my father left home like he did every morning to sell tamales outside the Supermall on 52nd and Pulaski, but this time, he never came back. While working to support our family, he was detained by ICE. We found out through social media. All that was left behind was his tamale cart.
Those who know my dad know his heart, a man of faith, love, and perseverance. He worked tirelessly so we never went without, even in the freezing cold, always greeting everyone with a smile.
As the oldest of five, I am doing my best to hold our family together and fight for his release. We are heartbroken but not giving up.
We are asking for your support, whether through a donation for legal fees or by sharing our story to raise awareness. Every prayer, share, and contribution brings us one step closer to bringing our dad home.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
