The Caravan is a team of twelve young people in our 20s and 30s —artists, musicians, performers, and hosts — traveling as a performance troupe this summer to bring our social-cultural sculpture, The Living Room, into various localities along the East Coast. Our journey begins on July 6th in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and culminates at the Youth Section’s festival fundraiser at Free Columbia in Harlemville, NY on July 18th!

At each stop along our route, we set up our Living Room in the evening in public parks: a confluence of conversations, creative invitations, and —when the bell chimes — a collection of performances up on our hand-made trailer-stage. All of our performance acts, which are a mixture of solo and collaborative, musical and dramatic, serve to open portals of imagination 'Out of the Ordinary' business as usual and into the possible the kinds of worlds we can imagine.
To make this journey financially comfortable for all, we kindly ask for your generous support to fully support our team's gas, mobile storage, food, and other essential artistic purchases!
We warmly invite you to follow our journey through the North American Youth Section's Instagram account @youthsection.na through July 6th and 18th when we're on the road.
We appreciate also if you will kindly spread the word to three people who you think may feel fired up to throw us some change!
Once this summer's Caravan becomes a reality, we hope to make it an annual event as a new cultural phenomenon that will grow into something truly magical and transformative for decades to come. We envision a future culture where our public places are brimming with the kind of lively performance art and social engagement that we are bringing to life in a modest way this summer. By supporting us, you are supporting a more beautiful world for future generations. Thank you for believing in us. We hope you'll join us on the journey!
