I have never even thought about starting a donation campaign but the sheer scope of devastation is beyond anything seen in recent memory. The intent is to use this as a site where the great family of Captive-Aire can show their support.
My name is Hrvoje "Keyzo" Knezovic and I have been an employee of Captive-Aire since 2001, and a regional manager for the Houston region since 2003.
My neighborhood (Sienna Plantation in Missouri City, TX) has some great people willing to help and we will use the resources gathered in the campaign to help those who need it the most. Every dollar will be accounted for and used for those in need on food, supplies, medical expenses, shelter.
I will work with Harvest UMC church in Sienna through their pastor Jeff McDowell and their outreach program to address specific needs for people. Initially the church plan is to purchase Cleaning Kit Materials which will include buckets with laundry detergent, household cleaner, dish soap, air freshener, insect repellants, sponges, scouring pads, trashbags, dust masks, work gloves.
The picture is from a neighborhood that is 100 yards away from where I live. My family and I were very lucky to find a good shelter in San Antonio and to not have damage in our home.
The great diverse community of Houston has shown everyone how neighbors help neighbors, and showed the true values of what unites us.
