Books 4 Kids
An old high school friend (hello Diane) recently reminded me of the needs being unmet in our schools. Specifically, there are children who have no means with which to buy books when the book fair “comes to town”.
This is particularly meaningful for me because I was at times that child. I remember everyone’s excitement at being able to browse through the books with the freedom to make our OWN choices and purchases to share proudly. I also remember being the child that could browse but was unable to purchase anything and how that made me feel.
SO, I am collecting funds to be split equally among the schools represented in our community by teachers and principals. Although we live in an affluent area, there are still MANY families who are managing just to meet the basic needs of getting their children to school and fed.
Please consider helping me create wonder and excitement for our children by helping to put a book in the hands of just one of these children! Can you help?
