Hello my name is Heather Scott, I have dedicated a huge part of my life to trying to find the best way to help the economically disadvantaged. I have volunteered at soup kitchens, been on the board of homeless shelters & piloted efforts to get homeless youth jobs. It wasn't until I lost everything and became part of the group I wanted to uplift that I was able to fully understand what breeds poverty.

I moved to NY state for the purpose of creating a healing sanctuary. You see I also run a cat rescue & have trained many of the cats to be “purr therapists” in order to offer animal therapy to those in need. :)) We have had a few set backs but at last the cats & I have found this purrrfect location in the center of Unadilla NY!!

This landmark hotel is in some disrepair but it is mostly cosmetic. It’s an expansive space with room for all the facets of my new Healing Community Center. There is a ballroom for yoga & dance as well as space in the building for music & art therapy along with an opportunity for a licensed psychologist who is willing to work with low income people. As we grow I hope to add a vet clinic which offers affordable emergency care to the indigent.

My vision is to incorporate these along with my cat therapy BIB (breakfast in bed) where visitors pick a therapy cat/cats from our portfolio to enjoy their spa weekend with. We call these “paw” getaways >^.*.^< We are also seeking someone to run a nutritional coffee shop with healing fare:))

All money donated will be used to acquire the building, get it up to snuff & facilitate a smooth transition to the property along with necessities for the therapy cats. I also want to hire at least one employee to help take the burden off the volunteers.

Luckily the building was already in the process of renovation and most upgrades have been done and many of the materials needed are already on the premises. As you can see from the pictures we will need equipment for the kitchen. It will be shared with the coffee shop & other food endeavors as well as be used to finish testing Casper's Cat food my ALL NATURAL pregnancy prevention holistic cat food recipe which has shown exciting potential in initial tests. This will be sold and donated on a sliding scale.

Besides all this I feel so blessed that there are enough rooms to set aside several to be part of Purina's Purple Leash Program. This will give emergency shelter to domestic violence victims and their pets as many shelters force people to give their fuzzy support friends away.

*The remaining space will be offered to any volunteers who want to build their own healing based business, leading to further economic growth in the area.

An overarching goal of this community based business is to uplift the area with well paying jobs & healing opportunities, leading to more smiles that have the power to reverberate through the Catskill mountains and beyond :)))

If you have any leads on grants or further funding possibilities or would like to invest I would be most grateful!! We have been very lucky that there was an extension in the foreclosure process & we now have until Oct. 31 ‘25 to make this happen! If for some reason we do not get the funds in time I have another location lined up which is not as majestic but will work nicely.
