Update from Lacey:
Our family is so grateful for all the support and contributions. Especially to those of you that may not know us, it means more than you can ever know that there are people out there in the world willing to help a stranger through an unfathomable situation. We've tried to reach out to everyone that's donated to thank them so I just want to make sure we express our extreme gratitude and how humbled we are by your contributions, Anonymous and people that don't have a Facebook account.

I've hesitated to make this uh, dignified begging, call for help but unfortunately it's unavoidable. On March 25th at 3AM a drunk and high driver drove through my bedroom and over me while I was asleep in bed.

Not only did they run me over once, they burnt their tires out on my lower legs and uh, buttocks, trying to back out of the house causing life long aggressive scarring. After backing out, they ran into our house and over me again. Because of this I'm unable to work as much as I did and will probably have life long consequences.

I wasn't the only one irreparably damaged by one person's careless actions, Ross and our family were also detrimentally impacted. I won't discuss minors out of respect to them, but they're having to face lifelong hurdles thanks to this crime. Ross himself was injured running towards the screams of people he loves, not to mention the unknowable mental anguish of having to hear those screams.

Admirably, Ross has kept everything together enough to provide and keep up on as many bills as possible, starting a new job while juggling the headache of coordinating with various insurance companies and my income being a fraction of what it was. He selflessly has been trying to shoulder the burden while I've been busy being a mess, ignoring his own trauma, to support a house we can't even live in and he deserves a break.

There's nothing I would appreciate more for my birthday then some funding to help rebuild our life, our family's well-being and whatever we might need to make our house feel like a home again.
