Alex's Eagle Scout Project

Hello, my name is Alex Bacci and I am a Life Scout in Troop 90 out of LaGrange Park, IL. I began my scouting career in 1st grade starting as a Tiger. Five years later I earned my Arrow of Light and crossed over to my Troop. My seven years in the Troop has lead me to this last phase on my trail to Eagle Scout. To earn my Eagle Scout Rank, I must lead and complete a project that benefits the community. I have chosen to work with the Cook County Forest Preserve to install a top of the line Bike Repair Station and Air Pump on the Salt Creek Trail at 26th Street Woods West in LaGrange Park. I have chosen this project because it not only benefits the community by supporting cycling, but is also one of my passions. The benefits of this project are:

· Biking helps the environment by reducing our carbon footprint

· Cycling is a healthy and fun form of transportation

· Provides a repair station on a beautiful trail that currently has none

· Increases safety on the trail for both pedestrians and cyclists

Your donations will help fund the installation of the bike repair station and air pump as well as supplies to create a Bicycle Safety Flyer that the scouts will help distribute to the community. Any funds left over will be donated to Cycle Brookfield who has agreed to maintain the Bike Station and Pump in the upcoming years.
