Hello all you kind souls! My name is Byrdie and I am a transgender student in America. I met a transgender individual named David via social media who currently lives in Kenya, where transgender rights are non-existant and life is extremely tough for LGBTQ+ individuals. He has had to move several times to keep himself safe. He struggles every day to find a safe place to live, food to eat, and water to drink. He is constantly in an environment where he is in danger, both from people around him and from the harsh weather. I am doing everything I can to help him through his sturggles, including setting up this GoFundMe for him and people in his situation.

"Hello, my name is Dav and I am reaching out to you with great hope and a brave heart. I live as LGBTQ asylum seeker after the homophobic threats and persecution that was in my home country Uganda. I find my self and my brothers in a difficult situation that I never anticipated, and I'm humble asking for your support. After when I came to the refugee camp I'm unable to work due to the homophobic threats that we face right here in the camp from the community to us with LGBTQ file. As one of the eldest brother, these unforeseen circumstances have affected our well-being but also put a strain to the ability to provide to my brothers because of the discrimination and segregation we face in the camp. your generosity and compassion can make a tremulous difference to our lives. The fund raised through will go directly towards the well being of myself and my brothers through buying food, good medication, firewood and also building shelters.
