A Place To Call Home

My parents, Richard & Debbie, aren't ones to ask for help so I'm doing it on their behalf. Their personal life has always been kept private because thats just who they are... so, I'm going to try to respect their privacy but ask that they forgive me for doing this.
They have been fortunate to have lived in the same rental house since 1998. It hasn't been the best place but the neighbors are like family and the rental price hasn't changed much over the years. They've paid their monthly rent without fail, even when my Mom was laid off during the pandemic when the schools closed. Living off of one income, especially that of someone working in early childhood education, has meant they've lived on a very tight budget... but they've always found a way to make it.
Until now.
Although they paid rent throughout the pandemic, the landlord didn't feel like he needed to pay the mortgage he held on the house. So he let it go into foreclosure all the while telling my parents it was "all a misunderstanding" and not to worry.
Now he's selling the house out from under them.
They have to move. By May 30th.
Mom is recovering from rotator cuff surgery (that only accomplished 30% of what it was supposed to repair) and needs carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists. Dad has his own medical issues including cataracts (he has to postpone surgery for it because of this housing issue). As they have said many times: "Getting old sucks."
They are trying to figure out options for where to go and what they are going to do but the biggest thing holding them down is the funds to make the move. Anyone who has seen what's happened to real estate & rental prices over the past 24 years (heck even the last 3 years!) knows how bad it is out there.
I threw out a goal originally of $3000 but, realistically, they need so much more than that.
I know this is a hard economy to ask for financial help but these two people really need a good break... and I'm scared they are going to lose everything if that break doesn't come soon. Anything you'd be willing to donate would make a world of difference for them.
UPDATE:
The landlord agreed to extend their tenancy until June 30th. This has granted them a little breathing room and extra time they needed to get their living situation in order. Looks like they have found a travel trailer that fits their needs along with a place to park it. That will all be *hopefully* coming together this week. Continued prayers and contributions would be greatly appreciated (especially as the price of the trailer they hope to get is more than they had hoped to spend).
Thank you all for your support!
