Hi, my name is Brian and i am fundraising for The Talbot Centre and Universal Connections
On Saturday 26th July i will be reaching the top of Ben Nevis which is the highest mountain in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and the British Isles standing 1,345 m
The Talbot Centre is a facility that provides help and care for those who are homeless, providing emergency accommodation and daily items such as groceries and toiletries
Universal Connections in Rutherglen are a drop-off centre who support people in the community through a variety of projects including Isolation and Loneliness
last year I was searching online trying to find a way back into playing 5 a side football and by fate I was contacted back by a truly great man called Andy Rundell, Andy has for year been involved in all sorts of charity work, too many to mention but he also is the man behind the over 50's five a side Eastfield United
Eastfield United brings together guys and girls on a Friday night in East Kilbride for an hour of football, all are welcome and we have the best bunch of people 50+ 60+ who have formed a bond and friendship over the years, whatever your troubles, whatever struggles you are going through, Eastfield United gives you that escape for 1hr per week, where you are supported and encouraged by your fellow players, Its only been a year but Andy has helped not only me but everyone, So this climb is not only for these two amazing charities, but for Andy, and for Eastfield, who have given me the determination to complete this climb, these two charities are very close to Andy and through charity, we can really make a difference to the lives of others
So please join me in supporting both of these charities
