Help The Women of Ozoro Heal From Sexual Violence

On 21st March 2026, the female population of Ozoro village in Delta State, Nigeria were subjected to a mass rape attack. Justified as the Oramudu/Aluedho Festival, where the Uruamudhu Community believes men have the right to sexually assault any girl or woman they see. The incident went viral on social media platforms, and there are reports of countless victims.

The police in the area are complicit and have deemed the systemic rape of women and girls as “tradition”. At the same time, the victims are carrying shame that does not belong to them; as such, the number of victims remains unknown. However, grassroots activist Precious Ufuoma(@madamufuomaa) is trusted among the girls/women in the community, with some of the affected women/girls, and they are gradually coming to her for help with medical care. As many of them have extensive injuries.

This fundraiser is to help victims with immediate medical treatment. This part of the country is struggling economically and survives mainly from the economic boost brought by the nearby Southern Delta University. There are limited clinics the victims have access to & with limited money in circulation, access to healthcare is costly. Whatever you can donate will go a long way in helping the victims heal from this horrific violence.
