The goal of this fundraiser is to help charities providing food to Bay Area families in need during the pandemic. This news report from NBC  explains how thousands of families around the Bay Area are in desperate need of food while this report from KQED  explains how food banks are helping.  Food Is Joy Bay Area  is partnering with local charities such as Hunger at Home  and Santa Maria Urban Ministry  and others who are already helping families in need around the Bay Area. Alfonso Mendez of Santa Maria told us recently that the need has literally doubled from 35 families getting packets of food lasting 14 days to 70 families daily.  Please give generously to help provide for these local families in need of food during the holidays and beyond!
