Middlesex Mutual Aid

Individuals and families in Middlesex County are facing a particularly difficult time right now, with school closures, quarantines, unpaid sick leave, potential medical bills and still the need to stay on top of paying rent and buying food and other supplies. If you know of someone who may need a delivery of some food or other items, please call or text (preferably text) [phone redacted] and we will get someone to drop off a package at their door for them. If you want to volunteer your own time to buy items and deliver them, or to do outreach in your town, please let me know. We are just getting started, so we appreciate the patiece of our early contacts. If someone needs urgent assistance because of hunger or lack of a basic necesity please call. Mutual Middlesex is a collective of individuals working to help support our communities during this time of illness of people and society. In a country without universal single-payer healthcare or a strong social safety net, a strong community is more important than ever. Beyond coordinating this effort, we are asking for financial assistance now so this help can reach more of our neighbors.  We will be using whatever resources are made available to deliver essential food, clean water, and help our local area coordinate the sharing of resources so that no one has to go without.  If we are not prepared to help support each other, we will all suffer in the end. This is our way of getting help to people who need it immediately as we build a network that can coordinate better This goes directly through our volunteers to someone in need and building long term sustainable resources. Funds are being managed  by a model that sends donations and goods through volunteer accounts and are not part of the Non-Profit complex. Training is available for volunteers who help in the coordination of operating the network.  The more you can give, the more we can help.
