(My) Family in Need
This gofundme is for my family who is struggling and in serious need.
Six years ago my Dad hurt himself and is now on disability (fused discs and nerve damage) and is unable to work consistently due to the pain. Prior to his injury, my parents adopted a baby. They also have a special needs son (my brother Kyle) and adopted into the family another boy with special needs (Adam). They are a family of five. They had a house, but once my Dad got injured (being the sole provider), and was unable to work they lost it two years ago.
They were forced to leave their home and everything in it, they lost everything in 2016. They were blessed to find an RV from someone for very cheap that they could live in temporarily on our friend's property. The title was never transferred to their names.
Now, they need to move as soon as possible. They have been unable to save due to the low amount they are getting from SSI. They have been on lists for low-income house for the past two years and have yet to hear from them.
They are looking to move to Port Angeles to live near their daughter (me). There are more resources in Port Angeles and low-income housing options than where they are at currently. The only problem now is money.
My parents have always been ones to give everything they have to help others in need when I was growing up. Now, I want to do something to help them, unfortunately I don't have the funds myself.
I'm reaching out to my community and friends. If you are able to help, I would appreciate it so much.
Here is a breakdown of what is needed and the cost:
RV: 1983 FLEETWOOD RV SOUTHWIND 30:
Tires for RV (7.50 16LT Load Range E): $130 each X 6 tires = $780
Battery (2): $107 X 2 = $214
Title for Trailer: $125 (never transferred title)

COST OF NEW LIVING ARRANGEMENT/MOVE:
First Months Rent/Deposit: $1600
U-Haul Truck/Gas: $70 and $100
TOTAL: $2889
Once they get settled, they will be able to afford rent and my husband and I will help my brother with special needs find housing that is appropriate for him (adult family home, etc.) so he can reach independence.
