What’s up everyone! I hope you’re doing well.

I’m reaching out with a request.

Many of us frequently talk about the type of world we want to build. Many of us have even talked explicitly about the role that resource redistribution plays. Not just as donations or mutual aid, but also directly between members of a community. We echo that this is especially important when societal structures fail members of our beloved community -- and we all have different roles to play.

But - eek! How the heck do you actually do that?!

Giving directly between people brings up our deepest programming around money: who is deserving, what to do with what we have, the visceral fear of scarcity.

Well, today we’re going to try. Someone in my community is at a point where $4,400 would allow them to have options. Slightly more would offer breathing room.

I’m going to keep this person anonymous. I’m not going to say anything about their identity or personhood to make them seem more or less worthy. I’m going to ask you to trust me and this request.

But because they are my friend–and you know I can’t skip an opportunity to be corny–I want to say that everyone deserves a shot. But some people really fucking do.
