Help me fulfill my dad's last wish.

Hi,

I'm Niklas and I'm 20 years old. I'll get straight to the point, my dad is in not too good of a condition regarding his health and it's getting worse every day and I can clearly see that. My dad has helped me my whole life and got me into cars as he's always been very interested in cars and tuning. Now what I really want to say is, my dad bought his very first own tuner car back almost 30 years ago, a used Honda Prelude BB2 that you can also see in the main picture I've posted to this campaign!

My dad had a very life changing accident almost 1,5 years ago that should change his life forever, he blacked out in our basement and was in this state for several minutes.

And now for the reason why his life changed, it's because he worked as a construction worker (working on roofs and high up) for almost 40 years and lost his job because of that, now he can't do what he always enjoyed doing anymore.

Since then he had a very rough time managing to live a relatively normal life with his financial situation additionally to having no job and due to him almost being 60 years old, nobody wants to employ him anymore and the car cannot be repaired by him anymore due to his financial situation. I can't just watch his life slowly fade away and so I chose to try to make one of his last wishes come true, to drive his old car once again before he dies, sad thing is that this is not even my saying but it's a direct quote of my dad. It hurts hearing your own dad talk about himself like that and I want to at least have tried making him happy and giving something back to him and not only receiving all the time, but as I'm currently a student and meanwhile working in a apprenticeship I can't afford it all by my own.

I know that the world has more important things to think about regarding all the wars and conflicts in the world, but I've thought about making this campaign for several months now and I want to take things seriously now and I want all of the people who want to support me and my dad to know that, so I'll explain the plan as it is for now:

1. The car has already been undergoing several important repairs and looks like it's in a good technical shape, so the only thing that remains is the exterior and interior to be fixed.

2. The first step would be to fix the cars body, that's because it has some damages all over the body and some bumps in the body that we'll need to fix somehow, either we can pull them

out or we have to fix them with filler / screed.

3. After that is done, the rust has to be removed or even cut out and some parts replaced with good used ones to ensure it won't start rusting away very soon.

4. We'll have to sand down the car to it's priming and have it repainted all over again, maybe in the same colour or in another, I'll try to find that out from my dad without him realizing

what's going on. (maybe we will wrap it instead of spray painting, but we'll decide on that if we're somewhere close to that.)

5. We'll fix the interior by either fully cleaning the inside parts of the car or buying some good used parts to replace the broken or mouldy ones.

6. Maybe we'll try to improve the overall looks of the car just a little bit to impress my dad even more, but I want to only do that by asking my supportes for their opinion and what fits best.

7. As the very last step, we'll have to get the car as it is fully fixed through the german TUV, which could turn out to be pretty difficult, but hope remains.

Now you know about my plan. The most important thing for me is that my dad will not know about all of this at any time througout the whole process in order to surprise him at the very end as soon as it's finished. As I want all of you to see that this is a legit process, I will record the whole fixing progress and all the steps in between and post it in form of maybe a YouTube series on me and my friend's channel, also on our Instagram. As the very last video of the series, I'll try to capture my dad's live reaction somehow and let you be part of the big moment.

You can help me decide during the whole story, maybe we have to buy new wheels or repaint it as I already said, and I want y'all to be part of this project.

I had the very cool idea to collect all the donators' names on some sort of poster or something and put it up in the garage where the car will stay as soon as it's finished.

Additionally, if some money will not be used for the car and we have some left over, I don't want to use it for personal purposes as I do not want to gain anything out of this besides fulfilling my dad's last wish. I want to donate all of the leftover money to a charity or social fund that all of you can choose if we collect too much.

If any of you have some additional ideas, please let me know about it! I'm always open for feedback and hope, that this finds it's way to the right people and that I somehow can manage to achieve my goal. Think about it, but I don't want to force anyone, but maybe some of you know how it is to be in this kind of situation.
