Help a Family Stay in Their Home

I’m looking for help immediate help if at all possible?

Yesterday I received a 3 day notice slipped through my apartment door. I was surprised to receive this as my husband had just spoken to our landlord last Thursday on how we’re going to get caught up. The landlords been working with us for a few years now & the day my husband returns to work we get a notice.

A little back story to understand our situation, almost 2 years ago my husband was in a serious motorcycle accident on HWY 101 while on his way to work. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks, then relocated to an assisted living facility for another 2 weeks. When he came home he was in a wheelchair for 6months & then a walker, to a cane, & eventually walking again. He received disability payments from work but they didn’t nearly cover everything we had to pay for. We voluntarily surrendered 2 cars cause rent, food, shelter for our kids are more important. We also applied for food stamps but we made too much to qualify with just his disability coming in. State didn’t take account for rent, electric, or any other necessary costs of what’s needed for basic survival.

Today I called Catholic Charities of Monterey & left a message. This was around 2:30p today & they have not called back yet. My understanding of hearing from others is that they’re probably tapped out & won’t be able to help.

I just want to get our rent caught up so my children can stay where we are plus, with being out of work this long & surrendering 2 cars our credit is shot so no one is going to take us.

No we don’t qualify for section 8 either as husband makes too much. Our rent is behind about 2months 5k. We’ve no place to go if we loose our apartment. My daughter we got her a few years ago. She’s used to living homeless in a car when she was with her biological mom. My son has autism, & my oldest son is a type 1 diabetic. I myself haven’t worked cause for awhile I was taking care of my husband to get around to doctors appointments, surgeries, & physical therapy. I myself got sick in the middle of this all & spent a few months in & out of hospitals. I’ve looked for work & done interviews but no one called me back to start work.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
