As you may or may not know, Waukesha, WI, was affected by heavy rain and flooding over the last week. My sister-in-law (Rachel Green), brother-in-law (Ryan Green), and two awesome kids have been severely affected by this. Although they were not evacuated, as some of their neighbors were, they had major flooding in the basement. Unfortunately, the high water levels caused their septic system to fail, and the basement flooding was raw sewage. This also happens to be where she runs her in-home daycare. They are in the process of determining what is salvageable, but almost everything in the basement has been destroyed, including the entire daycare she has run for fourteen years. Due to all the damage, my niece and nephew have given up their bedrooms and living space, so that Rachel can continue the daycare upstairs. Those two kids are truly amazing and have stepped up and are helping in every way possible, and have not complained a bit.
Their insurance will cover the clean-up and some of the remodel, but will not cover replacing the new septic or connecting to the city sewer. Please consider donating to help this amazing family, who do so much for family, friends, and the community. Your contributions will go to replacing daycare toys, furniture, a new septic (or a city line installed), and the portion of the remodel that insurance will not cover. Thank you in advance for your help!!
