My name is Bruno Martins, and I am here to share the most important situation of my life right now: the chance to return and be reunited with my family.

Seven years ago, I fulfilled a big dream: to live in the United States. I came legally with my wife. We worked hard, always together, living with faith in God, love, and harmony. Soon our first child together, Ben, was born, bringing even more joy to our lives.

During this time, I also faced deep pain. I lost my mother in Brazil and could not say goodbye. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, but I stayed strong, believing everything would be okay. I worked double shifts so that my wife could stay home and care for our son, avoiding the high cost of day care and giving him the best possible care — that of his own mother.

Some time later, we received the news of another pregnancy — twins. But it was a high-risk pregnancy: placenta previa, and two babies sharing the same placenta. The worries grew. How could my wife care for Ben while carrying such a delicate pregnancy, without family support?

So, we made the hardest decision of our lives: to separate geographically. She returned to Brazil to be with her family, while I remained in the U.S. to work and send support. It was painful, but it saved her life and the lives of our children. Thank God, the twins were born healthy.

But my plan of saving money quickly and returning soon did not happen. Time is passing, and each day away from my family weighs heavier on me.

My wife had postpartum complications, with very high blood pressure, and I could only pray from afar and send money. My two-year-old son misses me deeply; he shows signs of emotional distress, with unexplained health issues that doctors believe may be linked to the absence of his father. The twins, so little, have never felt a father’s embrace. My wife, though strong, suffers silently. And many times, I feel powerless not being there.

I work whenever and wherever I can, but I cannot save anything. Every dollar goes to rent, formula, diapers, medical costs, and other expenses in Brazil. I live the daily pain of watching my children grow up through a phone screen.

What I want most is to be with them. I do not want my children to grow up without a father. I do not want to lose more irreplaceable moments with the ones I love. But I also cannot return empty-handed, risking becoming a burden. I need to go back with the minimum resources to support my family until I can reestablish myself professionally in Brazil.

That is why I decided to open this campaign. After planning carefully, I set the goal of 13,000 dollars. This amount will allow me to buy my plane ticket, the cost of transporting essential luggage (After living in the United States for seven years, I am reducing everything I own to only what is strictly necessary. Even with this effort, the move will still require an average of 7 to 8 checked bags, which significantly increases travel costs) and support my family during the first months, and give me time to find a dignified job — without letting them go without the basics.

Every contribution, big or small, will be a step toward my return — to be the present father my children need, and the husband my wife deserves.
