Financial Support for Francisca Trigueros

Donation protected
On March 15th, 2022, the USC Department of Psychology's long-time and beloved custodial worker, Francisca Trigueros, was wrongfully terminated from the job that she has held for 24 years. Why? She found a student's backpack and locked it in her supply closet for safekeeping until she could locate one of the staff members responsible for our department's lost-and-found.

You can access our department’s open letter (which gained over 14,000 (!) signatures in its first 72 hours) here (bit.ly/FranciscaLetter), and click here to see the latest signature total. If you would like to add your signature in support, you can do so here (bit.ly/FranciscaPetition). Media coverage of this case can be found here , here , and here .

We never expected this story to gain the traction that it has, so we now have the blessing of Francisca and her family to collect donations more publicly. Funds will be transferred directly to the family and will help them financially recover from an incident that has affected not only Francisca’s livelihood, but also her physical and mental health.

Francisca is so grateful for everyone’s support, but attracting this much attention has been an overwhelming experience for her. If you would like to offer your support, you can sign the open letter and, if you are able, make a donation. Please be respectful if you share her story on social media and please do not attempt to contact her or her family.
