Greetings family and friends! My name is Nia Simpson and I’m reaching out to you as I embark on my journey to become the next Miss Black and Gold representing the Xi Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated at the University of Central Florida. I am currently a senior majoring in Advertising and Public Relations with a double minor in Digital Media and Mass Culture & Collective Behavior and I have dreams of making my mark as a professional in the media field advocating for the development and growth of young adults such as myself. My platform is dedicated to addressing the lack of resources and transparency surrounding mental health for young adults especially individuals within the African-American community. Furthermore, it shines light and encouragement on the growth of our up and coming generation and provides support as we learn to transcend past life’s trials.
