Hi, I’m Awule Tonny fundraising for Kirunda Nouhman, founder of Ecowarriors Initiative, and I’m leading #KICKOUTPERIODPOVERTY in Budondo, Jinja.
In this community, many girls and women still use soil, rags, paper, old mattresses or torn clothes because sanitary pads are unaffordable—forcing them to miss school, work, and live with shame during their cycle.
Why this matters to me
Seeing friends drop out and families suffer in silence made me realize period poverty isn’t just about pads—it’s about health, education, safety, and equality. I want every girl to menstruate with dignity.
Impact so far
- 5,000+ girls reached
- 500+ boys engaged as allies
How the funds will be used
- 5 electric sewing machines to set up a local reusable‑pad production unit.
- Materials (eco‑friendly fabrics, kits, hygiene supplies).
- Sensitization & community outreach – workshops in schools, villages, and with local leaders.
- Planting trees as part of climate action, linking environmental health to menstrual health.
- Building period‑friendly toilets with clean water access.
Every contribution goes directly to equipment, supplies, training, and sustainable impact.
Please help us give Budondo’s girls and women the safety and confidence they deserve.
