Support Michael's Family Through Tough Times
Donation protected
Last week, on June 22nd, we lost one of the kindest, most hard-working, and funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, Michael Mitchell. Michael was a tender and quiet man, until you brought up college football. He had a whole lot to say then. He loved his family, deeply, especially his Mama. Not a day went by where I didn't have the pleasure of hearing about some of the good meals that woman would throw together. He loved his brother, James (Or Terry, as Mike would call him), even if he got on his nerves from time to time. And he loved his sister, Shawna, as well, who would always come through for him if he needed a hand.
Michael was also a loving husband to his late wife who passed suddenly a few years back. She was stricken with medical issues for a while, and on top of working a full-time job, sometimes two, he would work tirelessly at home to help his wife and make sure she was comfortable and taken care of. Michael loved being able to keep himself busy when he needed to, and he loved his quiet and peaceful free time on the weekends. His goofy smile graced me every morning as I'd come to work, and I can't tell you a conversation that this man and I DIDN'T have.
Michael has friends all over this town, whether it be folks he grew up with, buddies he'd share a Miller Lite or two with, or folks that he'd worked with throughout his many years in the food industry. Michael's passing has left a huge crack in all of our hearts, and I can't even begin to process the pain his family must be feeling at this time. Michael was a provider for his household, so any donations collected will be to help his family with any medical bills, arrangements for his funeral, any other financial needs that may have during these very troubling times.
