Help a Shot & Injured Stray Get the Surgery She Needs

A Hollister Animal Control officer found her lying on the pavement — unable to stand, disoriented, and in pain. She is a 10-year-old stray female cat, and she had been shot with BB pellets. One is lodged dangerously close to her spine, which is almost certainly causing her hind-leg weakness and loss of coordination.

As if that weren't enough, she also has a large abdominal hernia — a serious tear in her body wall that can trap internal organs and is life-threatening without surgical repair.

X-rays confirmed the BB pellets and hernia. No broken bones were found. Despite everything she has endured, she arrived at San Benito Vet Center stable and alert. Her veterinarian believes that with surgery and a loving indoor home, she can still have a wonderful quality of life.

But first, she needs to make it through the operating room.
