Hi, my name is Saoirse and I’m currently volunteering with IVHQ for the next two weeks. I have the privilege of working at Determined Pre and Primary School, where I’ve been placed with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students.

There are 80 incredible children in my class, all learning together under the care of just one dedicated teacher. Despite the challenges, their enthusiasm and love for learning are truly inspiring.

However, the classroom is overcrowded, and it’s clear that the children would benefit greatly from having a second space where they can learn more comfortably and effectively. They have a space within the school to build an extra classroom. My goal during my time here is to begin the process of creating this classroom to support these two classes and give them the environment they deserve.
