Why I'm running for Breast Cancer Now

Hi, my name is Garry Elkington. 2025 will be the 40th Anniversary of running my first Half Marathons (Leicester & Chesterfield) but this will be my first time being in the Great North Run - an iconic race that has always been on my Bucket List!

My wife, Tina, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2018, and thankfully, with a quick response with surgery and Radiotherapy Treatment by the NHS at Chesterfield Royal & Weston Park Hospitals - Tina has been in remission ever since!
