Support Sophia's Fight Against Leukemia

Many of you have been following Sophia – our selfless, bright, kind, and joyful princess – as she’s traveled and fought through a very difficult journey.
Sophia (10) was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in April 2023, underwent chemo, went into remission, relapsed, endured another tough course of treatment, and ultimately received a bone marrow transplant in August 2024.
Sophia was getting stronger at home and her loving, dedicated family was just regaining some sense of normalcy and preparing for a refreshing holiday season when, just a couple of days before Thanksgiving 2024, they received devastating news: the leukemia had returned. Her family is now awaiting treatment plan options from the medical team.
Throughout this whole ordeal, her parents, Joey and Jess, have remained wholeheartedly dedicated to Sophia and her younger brother, Aiden. They’ve been taking turns living at the hospital and shuffling back and forth to various appointments, while maintaining two full-time careers and staying engaged in school and extracurricular activities for Aiden. They’ve quietly endured multiple financial setbacks all the while coping with the mounting expenses of cancer treatment and associated living expenses. To name just a few, in only the last 3 months, they’ve had an emergency surgery, major emergency repairs to their house, and damages to their commuting vehicles. They’ve calmly and efficiently dealt with each challenge that’s come their way. Their strength is testament to their faith in and walk with Jesus.
With this current relapse, they’ve had to make the difficult decision to step back from work to be able to fully focus on Sophia’s treatment and on maintaining their family as together and uplifted as possible. This will undoubtedly be a significant financial burden, but one they consider necessary given the circumstances.
I have established this fund to help ease as much of their financial stress as possible during this time, and to cover medical and travel expenses insurance won’t cover.
Friends, family, and all who’ve reached this page: we have an opportunity to come alongside this family and support them in a tangible way. We have an opportunity to make a difference in their journey. They are not alone and we will help them carry this burden. I know God will use us, their community, to provide for their needs during this extremely difficult season.
Please continue praying for Sophia’s healing, and for wisdom and peace for Joey, Jess, and Aiden. Thank you so much for your support!!
