My name is Cathy and I'm fundraising for my friend Mohammed Al Shabra in Gaza.
Mohammad worked as a Freelance graphic designer before the war and the family lived comfortably. Their life was stable until the war began. This took everything from them. Safety, comfort, health.
The war took everything with it. Mohammed and his sisters have lost both parents and two siblings along with other members of their families and their home.
In Mohammeds words 'At every moment and every second there are sounds of explosions and gunshots and everything around them. They do not sleep and cannot go out for fear of shrapnel tearing apart their bodies.'
Today, all this family hopes for is to remain alive in this cold war, which has drained much of their blood, effort, and health.
Mohammeds niece, Ella is severely injured and her fate is unknown due to the lack of treatment. They are unsure what trauma is done to her head and she is awaiting evacuation by the WHO for six months now.
Mohammeds sister was killed at ages 18 in May 2024, in December 2024 his parents, brother and his brothers wife were also killed along with the wife's entire family.
When I speak on the phone to Mohammed and his family, I can hear drones and bombing in the background.
This is just one family out of thousands of families that are suffering, and what you can offer with a donation is great and makes such a difference to them, giving them hope to hold on to this life and not give up.
You prove to the whole world that humanity exists and that the impossible is possible, and with your help they can leave Gaza and live like other human beings, having humanity and a decent life. Every euro you pay makes a difference in the life of this family and may even be the reason for their survival. Make the impossible possible for this family, give them life and hope, be the reason for their survival, and be an example of humanity and compassion.
Share and interact with your friends this link, help with a little and give them hope
I befriended Mohammeds sister in Ireland when she arrived from Gaza.
Since then we have had many phone calls and lots of communication through video calls.
Mohammed and his family live in North Gaza where the situation is very difficult. There is very little water and food and they don't have basic necessities. They are displaced and their home was destroyed.
