Be the Light

Happy holiday season, friends! A family that is near and dear to my heart is enduring an incredibly challenging time. The wife has been out of work due to chronic illness and surgeries. Their struggle has been ongoing the last few years but recently took a turn rapidly downhill when the husband's pay was cut significantly due to his company changing his shift.  They are on the brink of losing everything; fallen behind on rent and being asked to move out of their home. They are behind on car payments and have no extra money for groceries. This is an extremely heartbreaking situation at any given time of the year, but, especially now when you should be hunkering down and getting cozy for winter... not having to weigh which of your family's basic needs (food, housing and transportation) needs the most immediate financial attention.

In today's day and age, most of us are struggling in some way. We power through by finding our inner strength and leaning on the support of family and good friends. What happens when there is no inner strength left to keep fighting? When we keep trying to stay afloat but the current keeps getting stronger, the waves bigger and the sky darker? We have to hope that our family and friends are there with a beacon of light or a helping hand, a life preserver, anything... anything to help keep us afloat until we reach land. Their light a reminder that everything will be alright.

We're here now, and together we will help pick them up.

Please, consider joining me in bringing forth the light for this family.  They didn't ask for this. They didn't make irresponsible decisions. They are good, genuine, hardworking people. They were just dealt a shitty hand and are struggling to stay afloat. Family and friends mean everything. Any monetary amount helps. $1 goes a long way if many consider it. If you'd rather donate a gift card for groceries, that helps too. It all helps. Their gratitude and mine alike, knows no bounds.

My deepest gratitude to you all.
With big love and lots of light,

Kelly xoxo
