Blessings in the Dominican Republic
Donation protected
Hi, friends. I am headed back to the Dominican and would love your support if possible. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, my cousin Jake, who passed away in a car accident when he was a senior in high school, had been to the Dominican on humanitarian trips and had a huge heart for the people on the island. As a way for my family and his friends to continue to honor his life and legacy, we carry on his work in the Dominican with the people he cared so deeply for.
We work largely with Haitian refugees now living in the Dominican Republic and our non-profit (A Hand Up Group) has helped to build a school and a children’s hospital, installed clean drinking water wells, given away thousands of pounds of food to those most in need. We have also constructed several multi-family homes where families live rent free for five years, and we help those families to establish their own businesses so that they can save money to buy their own land and home.
We are asking for donations to help us purchase large amounts of food in bulk so that we can make family packs of food for the families most in need. Typically, we are able to give away several thousand pounds of rice, beans, oil, pasta, carrots, and sardines. Your donations will allow us to continue this work. Donations will also go towards our construction work while there.
Please know that 100% of your donations will either go towards the purchase of food/supplies or to a specific need in the community as my travel costs and room and board have already been paid for. I fully recognize that this year has been a challenging one for many, and I’m sure your heart to help has been pulled in several directions throughout these challenging times. Know that every dollar helps and that there is no donation too small. If you find yourself in a position where donating is just not realistic, I’ve been there, and I get it. I would ask you to share this far and wide with as many people you think might donate as possible. Thank you in advance for your consideration & support of this work which is so very important to me and my family.
I would be happy to FaceTime with anyone interested in seeing the work we are doing, the communities we serve, and the people we love. With Love, Frank
