This is the 14th annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) fundraiser in LaGrange Park. NHN is a community led organization dedicated to supporting local individuals and families facing unexpected hardships. Through compassionate fundraising efforts, we rally together to provide hope, relief and tangible assistance during difficult times.

One of our recipients in specific is Laurie Waldek. Unfortunately, Laurie has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Laurie and Justin have three daughters: Aubrie, 17, who is a senior at LT; Lydia, 15, who is a junior at LT; and Quinn, 12, who is in 7th grade at Park. Her husband Justin works for Norfolk Southern Railroad and previously served in the United States Marine Corps, where he deployed to Iraq twice and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. Laurie works as a sign language interpreter and has a deep love for plants.
