Help a Mother Reunite With Her Children
For the last several years, I have been caught in a custody battle that feels endless. I am a mother of two amazing children, and all I want is the chance to be there for them in the way they need. Unfortunately, the family court system often comes down to resources, and right now, I am running out of them.
For over a decade, I was a stay-at-home mom, fully devoted to raising my kids. I never built a career and now I’m facing the consequences of that. Living in Los Angeles while paying for ongoing legal fees has become impossible. I work as hard as I can to make ends meet, but every extra dollar goes straight to court costs. Without help, I fear losing the ability to fight for my place in my children’s lives. This case has been going on for four years now.
Last year, the stress of trying to survive in LA and support my family as a single mom while working grueling hours broke me. In July, I experienced a psychiatric crisis. Thankfully, I am now stable, receiving treatment, and healthier than I have been in years. My children were never exposed to that instability, but it has been used against me. What was once equal custody has now become supervised visitation — visits I must pay for out of my own pocket.
I know I am a good mother. My children know it, too. My teenager — who is transgender / struggling with his own mental health issues and deeply in need of steady, unconditional support — has told me he wants to live with me again. I cannot give up on them, no matter how difficult this fight becomes.
I don’t share these words lightly. It’s terrifying to speak out at all, but I cannot stay silent while the future of my family is at stake. Every contribution will go directly to legal fees, so I can keep standing up for my children while also keeping a roof over our heads in Los Angeles.
If you are able, please help. Whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, you are giving me a fighting chance to remain the steady, loving presence my children deserve.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
