Help Our Family Come Back Together

Last year, our family’s world changed in ways we never could have imagined. We have always been a close, loving blended family, working hard to build a secure and happy life for our six children. Sadly, a series of overwhelming health crises and financial hardships caused everything to unravel.

I live with 13 chronic health conditions and disabilities that affect my daily life immensely — including anywhere up to 30 seizures a day, bone dislocations, balance issues, vision and hearing problems, blood and hormonal imbalances, and heart palpitations. Every day is a delicate balancing act just to manage these conditions.

Last year, my health deteriorated significantly. It began with COVID, which was potentially life-threatening due to my existing conditions. I was left bedridden for three months, fighting for my life through multiple chest infections, suspected pneumonia, severe allergic reactions to antibiotics, a lung cancer scare, and a terrifying breast cancer scare.

Following the breast cancer scare, new evidence was found suggesting I may have a serious brain condition affecting my hormones and vital organ function. I am still waiting — months later — for brain scans and desperately needed medical guidance. The lack of timely support has been incredibly disheartening.

During this time, my family feared for my life many times. I remained bedridden for months, and my partner — who is also my full-time carer — was unable to work as he cared for me and our six children through the most frightening period of our lives.

As if this wasn’t enough, some of our children became seriously unwell too. Requiring ongoing therapies. The emotional and financial strain on our family became overwhelming.

Just to make things a little harder our only car has broken down — leaving my partner struggling to keep his job, which is now our only stable income.

Without warning, everything we built began to collapse.

We lost our beautiful family home. Along with it, I lost my thriving family-run rabbitry business — 27 beloved pet bunnies I had poured my heart into — and a newly refurbished healing room that was ready to launch my new business, The Rainbow Room Healings. These were not just sources of income, but parts of my healing, purpose, and hope for the future.

Despite reaching out for help, we were unable to access emergency housing. As a result, our family has been torn apart. We are now living separately, taking refuge with friends and family in different locations. My partner and I have been separated, unable to co-parent under one roof. Our children are split apart — some away from siblings, some away from parents.

The emotional distress this has caused our children is heartbreaking.

We have been seperated since november, separated throughout the Christmas holidays, and as we entered the New Year, everything feels incredibly bleak. Our current living arrangements are temporary and the need to have a new family home to rebuild our family life is huge!

We are asking for help to do what feels impossible on our own.

Our goals are to:

Clear outstanding financial burdens caused by medical and crisis-related costs

Raise funds for a deposit on a new home so we can bring our family back together

Repair or replace our car so my partner can continue working

Relaunch our small businesses to create secure, sustainable income for our future

More than anything, we want our children to be together again — to feel safe, secure, and supported in one home. We want to rebuild what was lost and move forward with dignity, stability, and hope.
