This spring break Sahil Gopal, Sanam Bhakta, Prishana Patel, Janki Bhakta, and Ashwini Bhakta will be taking a trip to Panama to help set up medical clinics to serve those in need. We are going through a student led organization called, "Global Medical Training" that seeks to empower students with the knowledge and awareness of the humanitarian need that exists in the world today. The club expands the students understanding of medicine and life outside the United States and seeks to diffuse knowledge to countries like Panama. We are very thankful that the University of Texas at Austin is giving us the opportunity to experience this trip. Our goal is to raise enough money in order to buy scrubs, medical supplies, medicine to treat kids/families, and the total cost of airfare. Going to Panama will allow us not only to help people in need, but also help give us a experience of a life time that can prepare us for our future careers as medical professionals.
