On January 25, 2025, my mom's apartment building caught fire, leaving everyone in the building homeless. Most of them could not afford renter's insurance as the apartments were income-based. She has nothing. No house, no clothing; she left in her pajamas in the middle of the night. The Red Cross is helping as much as they can, but only for a few days.
