El 29 de Noviembre, nuestra madre y esposa, Rocio, sufrio lo inimaginable; sufrio un derrame cerebral masivo (aneurisma) que la puso en coma en el departamento de Terapia Intensiva del Hospital Foothills en Calgary, Canada. Desde entonces le han hecho dos cirugias mayores y riesgosas para salvarle la vida. Ella se encuentra por el momento estable en el piso de Neurología del mismo hospital, pero su recuperacion es muy lenta. 

El equipo medico del hospital nos indica que tendremos un camino largo por recorrer, y es por ello que les pedimos ayuda a todos ustedes, ya que nuestra familia la va a necesitar en las próximos meses para tratar de lograr su máxima recuperación. 

Rocio, a quien sus hermanos y amigos cercanos llaman "Chio", es mama de Ana y Sergio, esposa por 46 años de Sergio Sr., abuela de dos hermosos nietos, Checo y Eva, y suegra de Veronica a quien quiere como su hija; a ella le encanta la musica y su pasion es pintar. Su dia perfecto es una caminata por las montañas en un dia de verano y siempre es la anfitriona perfecta; nunca duda en ayudar a sus seres queridos y aquellos alrededor de ella. 

El dinero que logremos juntar ayudara a nuestra familia para todos los gastos extras que se avecinan en los próximos meses/años para que nosotros nos podamos enfocar en su recuperacion. Estos fondos ayudaran para contratar enfermer@s, rentar una cama de hospital, grúa y elevador de escalera para traslados y movimientos, pagar por medicamentos, reconfigurar la casa a sus necesidades y pagar por fisioterapia y terapias complementarias. Por ahora solo recibimos un solo ingreso en Canada, que se utiliza para pagar por los gastos regulares de la casa, la hipoteca, y la comida, ya que requerimos que Sergio Sr. se dedique por entero al cuidado de Rocio. Los fondos extras que se reciban nos ayudaran a alcanzar las metas que se nos propongan para ayudarla en su recuperacion.

On November 29th, our mother and wife, Rocio, suffered the unimaginable; she suffered a massive aneurysm that left her in a coma in the ICU of the Calgary Foothills Medical Hospital. Since then, she has had two major, risky surgeries to save her life successfully. She is currently in the Neurology floor of this hospital, but her recovery will be slow.

We have been told by the Medical staff that there will be a long road ahead of us, which is why we are reaching out to you, as our family will need all the help we can get in the coming months to achieve a successful recovery.

Rocio, also called by her siblings and friends "Chio," is a loving mother to Ana and Sergio, a wife of 46 years to Sergio Sr., grandmother to 2 beautiful kids, Checo and Eva, and a mother-in-law to Veronica; she is a music lover and paint enthusiast. She loves hiking in the Rocky Mountains on a summer day and is always the perfect host; she never hesitates to help her loved ones and neighbours.

All the money we raise will help us pay for all the extra care we need in the coming months/year(s) to fully focus on her slow recovery. The extra care will assist us with caregivers, hospital bed rental, cranes and lifts to allow her mobility and transport, additional medicine, home adjustments for her condition, and physiotherapy and all other necessary therapeutic treatments. We currently rely on a sole income that only pays for the regular bills, mortgage and food, as Sergio Sr. will be entirely dedicated to her care and wellbeing. The extra funds received will help us reach our goals for her in the foreseeable future.
