Hello! My name is Angelo, and I’m part of Filipinos Forward, a student-led community initiative dedicated to supporting Filipino youth and families both in Canada and the Philippines. Over the past two years, our team has hosted Christmas charity feeding programs that have provided warm meals to hundreds of impoverished children and families in the Philippines.

This year, we’re bringing this project back—bigger, more collaborative, and more impactful than ever.

Why We’re Fundraising

We want to unite the Filipino community across Canada to make a meaningful, direct difference for families in need. This project is run entirely by students, and this year we are collaborating with Filipino student associations from across the country, including:

Our goal is to strengthen the bond between Filipinos in Canada and back home in the Philippines by working together on a charitable initiative that brings joy, dignity, and hope to children who need it most.

Why This Project Matters

For many of these children, this event becomes the highlight of their holiday season. It gives them:

In previous years, our project focused primarily on providing food. This year, with more organizations collaborating and with the project lead travelling to the Philippines to run the event in person, we have the opportunity to do so much more—from games, contests, and small gifts, to fun side activities that will make this Christmas unforgettable for the kids.

This project is not owned by any single organization. It is a shared community initiative where all participating groups contribute ideas and make decisions together. No hierarchy, no veto power—just collective passion and teamwork.
