Hey everyone!

We are excited to announce the 7th Annual Homers for Harry will take place at Cheeseman Field in Wenham, MA on Sunday August 24th, 2025 with the first batter taking the plate at 12:05 PM.

For any newcomers, let us tell you what this is all about.

After the Carr family lost two members of their family to addiction, our group of friends decided to do something to help them. We originally wanted to give them the money to help cover funeral expenses, but they requested the money go to someone who could benefit from help. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Carr family for inspiring us with their generous and kind-hearted spirits to make a difference in the battle against addiction.

Homers for Harry is a charity Home Run Derby that helps raise money and awareness to help provide services for people coping with/recovering from addiction. Every dollar donated goes to a recovery center that gives people a chance to live addiction free.

Thank you to all the people who donated and/or participated the first six times around. You should be proud of what you helped us accomplish over these last several years. With your help, we raised over $2500 in 2018 and over $3,000 in 2019! Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic we were unable to host Homers for Harry in 2020, but thankfully with your support the 3rd Homers for Harry came back in 2021 stronger than ever and raised more than $6,400! 2022 saw the community come together to raise over $4,500. In both 2023 and 2024, over $5,000 was raised each of the last two years bringing the all time total of Homers for Harry to over $25,000 towards combatting addiction in the Commonwealth. After six fantastic years of supporting East Point Recovery Centers (formerly known as Baystate Recovery Services) in their mission to combat addiction and provide sober living/housing on the North Shore, we are announcing a new partnership with the Patrick Morris Memorial Foundation as the beneficiary for the 7th Annual Homers for Harry, in coordination with the East Point leadership team. On behalf of the Homers for Harry organizers, the Carr family and the community, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to John and his team for the work they’ve done and the impact they make on lives day in and day out. This event would not be what it is without his team. The Patrick Morris Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(r) created in memory of Patrick Morris who passed away unexpectedly in 2022. The foundation has a had a golf tournament for the past three years to raise money for men and woman to receive scholarships into sober living homes. To date, the foundation has provided scholarships for over 30 men and women into local sober living houses. They also give out two $5,000 scholarships in Patrick’s name to graduating seniors at Beverly High School. We are extremely grateful for John connecting us with Brendan and his team for us to continue making an impact in the fight against addiction and the pursuit of providing clean living for those struggling across New England as the funds raised with your contributions will do just that.
