Donacion a Bahia Blanca desde Philadelphia

Hello, my name is Maria (Medrano) Armington. I am an Argentine-born American citizen and a former educator. Part of my family is from a city locals call "Bahía", a city with an active port on a bay by the Atlantic Ocean. When translated, Bahia Blanca, its real name, means "White Bay," given that salt covers the shore soil. A few days ago, the city of Bahia Blanca underwent a catastrophic flood, leaving behind devastation and immense suffering. Tragically, lives were lost, and hundreds of people are still missing (swept away by the powerful currents). Floodwaters have contaminated the area, leading to health risks galore. The city's critical infrastructure (such as bridges, roads, and hospitals) has been severely damaged or destroyed, cutting off access to services, particularly in the most vulnerable areas. There are widespread power outages and a growing shortage of food, clean water, medicine, and other supplies. Homes and businesses have been destroyed, leaving countless people displaced and without livelihoods. Among the victims are several poverty-stricken families whose young adult children have Down Syndrome, other mental and motor disabilities, major hearing loss, and visual impairment. Their situation is critical. These families desperately need your help! These young adults received practical training and currently work at a non-profit organization called "Nuevo Sol" (New Sun). N.S. provides work skills and a safe space for integration, socialization, and support. In brief, it offers empowerment for future employment. N.S.began as a pilot project in 1994 and developed into a successful bakery where 25 of these young adults work in groups to manufacture, package, and sell baked goods with some help from parents and volunteers. Their situation of the families in need is dire. They urgently need basic supplies, clean water, food, clothing, and medical care. I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to provide immediate relief. Every dollar raised will be directly distributed to trusted local organizations and individuals on the ground, providing crucial aid. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of these young adults and their families. Rest assured that your funds will reach the bank account of Nuevo Sol directly, without any intermediaries. Follow-up will include providing here the names of the recipients and information about how the funds were spent. No administrative costs will apply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! May God bless your generosity! ❤️
