Help Save Jelena Vujic From Serbia— Urgent Surgery Needed to Stop Paralysis
Dear friends, dear world,
Attached to this campaign you will find the official medical documents and cost estimate from Memorial Hospital in Istanbul, confirming that my wife Jelena has been scheduled for urgent neurosurgery on December 9th, 2025. The total cost of her treatment — including hospitalization, neuromonitoring, spinal surgery, 3D spinal CT, MRI, and postoperative care — is 21,500 EUR. This amount is far beyond what our family can manage alone.
My name is Ivan, and today I am reaching out with more hope than fear, because hope is all we have left.
My wife Jelena is battling a rare and aggressive spinal cord disease called syringomyelia. It has already caused serious damage to her spinal cord and nerves, leaving her with weakness and paralysis on the left side of her body. She lives with unbearable pain every single day, frequent episodes of paralysis, and moments when she loses the ability to speak. Watching her fight for every step, every word, every breath — it has broken us in ways I cannot describe.
But there is a chance to save her.
A neurosurgeon in Turkey has reviewed her case and offered a lifeline — a surgery that could stop the progression of this devastating disease and give her a real chance at a normal life again. Without this operation, doctors expect that within 2–3 months Jelena may lose her ability to move and speak entirely.
Jelena is only 37.
We have three children who adore their mother.
And I am the only one working, trying to hold the world together for all of us.
It is incredibly painful for me to ask for help, but I cannot let my wife slip away when there is still hope. I cannot let our children watch their mother slowly lose herself.
That is why I am turning to you — to kind people across the world — with an open heart and a humble request for help.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Jelena one step closer to life without constant pain and the possibility to remain the mother our children need.
Thank you, from the depths of our hearts, to everyone who reads, shares, or supports this campaign.
Together, we can save Jelena’s future.
