Hello my name's Rita... On November 22,2025 in a blink of the eye, my life and my four young girls lives changed forever. While at the light waiting for it to turn green, a drunk driver was speeding of the Crosstown Expressway and smashed into our vehicle. I instantly went unconscious bleeding from my head n face not aware of my numerous injuries yet and my daughter behind me pinned with a broken ankle. Then after getting hit by him another vehicle hit my daughters on the passenger side pinning us in between both vehicles. All five of us were trapped with different injuries but being emotionally scarred were my other three children's reactions to mine and my daughter behind me injuries on top of them having their own injuries. Not only was I not able to wake up until they yanked me out the vehicle screaming from the pain I was in to waking up in the hospital's ICU after having numerous surgeries. After being in ICU for seven days I overheard the head doctor being greedy scolding the only doctor that cared for spending to much on tests for me n sent me upstairs with a tube in my lung saying I was going to have to leave because my medicaid didn't want to pay. My pelvis was shattered so I had to wear diapers and still do... I went from buying pampers for my children to needing it for myself.. Anyhoo, I was released eleven days after the wreck with no provider or assistance sent home to my injured children to be my unofficial providers. So not only was I stressed out from having to learn how to rewalk and not be able to do anything for myself to not having any source of income. I applied for government assistance with no luck and being denied. I cant go bk to work at the restaurant because I can't walk or serve due to my injuries. So now my children aren't having the Christmas we thought we were going to have because I thought I would've had a few paychecks by then. I reached out to one of the most known injury lawyer who's known for winning millions but had to let them go because they kept avoiding me and not taking my calls or responding to my texts. The next day after I let them go the call me saying they're withdrawing because " there's no financial gain" for the company. How greedy! Like what about our justice and the principle of the situation? So now we're in limbo with another top lawyer avoiding me also because that man that hits us doesn't have insurance. We just need help in getting justice not so much about the money. Yes of course now I'm on here because of my bills coming up, the loss of our vehicle and no Christmas presents. Even though they greatest gift of all is that we're alive and together, but no children should be without gifts on Christmas. As far as knowing my balance with the doctors, hospitals and four ambulances I couldn't say but I'm here asking for assistance with my rent, utilities, food and a Christmas miracle. I was told I'll be disabled for a year but my faith is saying different so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. From rent about to be due, to running low on food and now needing a vehicle all over again and no money coming in , I'm scared and left to reach out to the public. Not only was I humbled and ashamed of not being able to provide this is more shameful. If and when I can pass it forward I'll gladly do so... Also , any paralegal or lawyer who's willing to try and help pro Bono for the people who don't have a loud enough voice for the higher ups to pay attention (pro Bono for now) , I'll deeply appreciate it.
