When God calls you, you answer the phone. Many of you may know of our journey down the long and adventurous road to adoption, some of you may not. We are Darrin and Chrissy Green (Hi!). We’ve been married for 21 very eventful years. The first ten of those years were spent seeing all kinds of infertility doctors, taking all kinds of infertility drugs (ugh!) and having multiple surgeries. All of this leading us to the fact that we were never going to get pregnant, it just wasn’t what God had planned. What He had planned, for us, was even better. 12 years ago He gave us Michael, our first son, six years after that He sent Owen. Both of these boys were the answer to innumerable amounts of prayer. Blessings beyond belief. Then, almost two years ago Baby M., our foster son, came along.  He was born severely drug addicted. He spent the first month of his life in the NICU and after that we brought him home. Ten very, very long months later we were able to get him through withdrawal. Now he is a healthy, active and extremely bright little boy. During a conversation almost a year ago Chrissy’s sister told her that we now needed to try and get a baby girl. But he was it for the babies, no more babies. Chrissy even told her sister then, probably more seriously than not, God would have to have someone call us on the phone and say “There is a baby girl available for you, would you like to adopt her?” for us to even consider taking another little one. About a month ago that someone called.

                I can’t be extremely specific but here is the just of it. We were told of a young woman who was making a very courageous decision. She is pregnant and reached out to a woman in her life that has been a support to her. I’m sure she has prayed for this young lady countless times since she was a little girl. This woman is an older sister to some good friends of ours. When she was told of the situation, God brought us to her mind and she called us. We answered.

                This brings us to the purpose for this fundraiser. For this adoption to work, because it involves crossing state lines, we will need to hire at least two, possibly three, lawyers to handle all the technicalities. Our home study will need to be updated to be able to be used in the sending state and we will have quite a lot of traveling to do. This can all start to get really expensive. This has all come about rather quickly, we have eleven weeks before the baby will be born so we are in go mode. So many of you have supported us, prayed for us and helped us in the past. We could have never done what we have without you. We are reaching out again to seek your help. First and foremost, would you pray for this young woman who is pregnant and pray for us that we can be there for her. Secondly, would you prayerfully consider helping us offset the cost for this adoption? We are estimating a cost of somewhere between $10,000 and $12,000 before we are done.
