In Loving Memory of Jason Fieldhouse
Dear Friends and Family,
1 week has nearly passed since we tragically lost Jason (Jason Fieldhouse) days before his 34th Birthday and weeks before he married our beautiful friend Chrystalla Pitsillidis. Jason had a tragic accident and passed away on Saturday 4th February 2023. The world came crashing down on their hopes and dreams.
Thank you for choosing to read our story, a heart-breaking one it is.
With Chrystalla unwilling to put aside any pride and with a strong willingness to do things on her own, we must write this because quite frankly, we feel the load right now weighs too heavy.
When we entered this New Year, wedding plans were in full force for my beautiful friend Chrystalla, her fiancé Jason and their adorable daughter Tia 5. It was a long-awaited occasion, they had been together for 13 years, it really was meant to be their happily ever after.
Most people reading this will know that my friend Chrystalla has endured a 5-year health battle with cancer. Along the way there has been extreme lows, devastating appointments, moments of despair, mixed with the occasional highs, moments of great relief, gratitude and much hope and faith, throughout.
Chrystalla’s immense courage and strength, along with the support of her dedicated partner Jason and their little ray of sunshine Tia, not only helped her through intense therapies and complex surgeries, but also meant she always looked forward in life with optimism and hope.
If we put aside the physical, emotional, and mental impact that a cancer battle has on a person, and their families, there’s also the impact it has to someone’s career and household income.
Chrystalla had a start/stop work pattern that was determined by what consultants and their test results would say. Chrystalla spent long periods of time off on long-term sick and she eventually had to make the impossible decision to leave employment completely.
With Chrystalla facing this relentless battle, her rock and blessing really was Jason who was willing to work extra-long hours whilst Chrystalla focussed on treatment and recoveries, but then came the Covid-19 pandemic which amplified their strains. Chrystalla had to shield during this period as she had been undergoing chemotherapy. All this meaning that during her hard battle through cancer Chrystalla and Jason had to face this and raising daughter Tia separated and alone.
Once restrictions were lifted Jason launched his own property business in order to support Chrystalla and Tia, whilst being able to manage his own working diary and be there for when his family needed him most.
Things began to look up. Chrystalla won her battle with cancer for the 2nd time, and they could begin to plan a wedding they had long waited for. This finally should have been their time to celebrate a fresh start and bright future together as husband and wife.
I am not quite sure how they will navigate this as a family, but I know they don’t have a choice. With Chrystalla now solely responsible for providing and maintaining a home for herself and her 5 year old daughter, I have to find a way to help with this financial strain as I can’t watch her suffer this on top of the emotional pain her and Tia are facing.
If you’ve read this full story, thank you. If you can leave any words of comfort or a donation of any amount here, an even bigger thank you.
I know that every penny received will be spent in the most sensible way as my friend navigates this painful journey – she is the most headstrong person I know, thankfully, as she will need to find a whole new level of strength, somehow.
I appreciate all the love and support that comes her way.
